In 1971, Dr. Gaudio commenced a private consultative practice in Hartford, Connecticut, as the first retina-trained specialist in the State. Subsequently, he was the founding member of a group of consulting ophthalmologists. In December, 2003, he left that group to join his son Paul in establishing Eye Disease Consultants, LLC. Over the years, Dr. Gaudio has lectured on retinal diseases in Europe and Asia.

In August, 2003 Dr. Gaudio returned to his native Hartford, Connecticut after his military service, education, training, and work abroad, to establish Eye Disease Consultants, LLC.

 

 
Eye Disease Consultants is seeking candidates for the following position:

TITLE: Uveitis Fellow
JOB DUTIES: Uveitis Fellowship. To evaluate and treat patients with ocular inflammatory disease under Dr. Paul Gaudio’s tutelage. The medical and surgical care of these patients is complex and requires specialized knowledge of an advanced sub-field of ophthalmology, and it is anticipated that extensive personal time will be dedicated to studying books, articles and a wide variety of resources in order to achieve proficiency.

Responsibilities: a) conduct ophthalmologic evaluation of all patients with ocular inflammatory disease presenting to the office; b) develop a management plan for each; c) perform eye surgeries as indicated for each patient; d) document all findings in the office medical record system; e) generate correspondence as needed for each patient’s care; f) interpret all photographic images for the medical record; g) code and bill for services performed; h) assist in maintaining all office equipment and the office physical space in working condition sufficient for patient care.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: MD having completed a residency in ophthalmology at an accredited US institution.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Hours: Monday through Friday, 7am until patients are all gone (roughly 50 hours) plus call from home every other week, 7 days at a time.

Place of work: a) Eye Disease Consultants (“the office”) at 85 Seymour Street Suite 522; b) Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour Street, for consults and eye surgeries.
