Fellowship Opportunities

The rich and varied clinical environment at Eye Disease Consultants creates an excellent educational opportunity for fellowship training in ocular infectious and inflammatory diseases, (the subspecialty commonly referred to as “uveitis”). Fellows receive extensive instruction in the medical and surgical management of these complex diseases, and can opt to focus their surgical efforts on either the anterior or posterior segment. The typical training program is 1 year, and aims to create specialists who are well versed in the evaluation and diagnosis of infectious and inflammatory eye conditions, facile with corticosteroids and systemic immunosuppressive medications, and confident surgically.

This fellowship is certified compliant with the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO, program # 4991), and participates in the San Francisco Match. Applications can be made through www.sfmatch.org. Clinical fellows must have completed a US accredited residency training program.

For international applicants aspiring to learn uveitis, we are generally able to offer a research fellowship with in-office clinical exposure, with visa administration through Hartford Hospital. International fellows must have funding from their home countries.
